Mr. Yitzhak Herzog, President of the State of Israel, and his wife, Mrs. Michal Herzog, were honored guests at our annual meeting between students of the Boyar and Himmelfarb high schools.
This is the 27th year of what has become a tradition of dialogue between the schools, with their students meeting annually, wishing to better understand one another and unite. During the encounters, they think together, create workshops, and work towards producing a joint ceremony.
The first meeting between the schools took place a month after the murder of Yitzhak Rabin z"l, and this partnership, centered upon important and fruitful dialogue, continues at full strength.
The president and first lady told the students about their personal relationship with Yitzhak Rabin z"l, and discussed presidency in general. They open-heartedly responded to questions posed by the students.
"Ours is a golden path," said Dafna Baruch, Boyar's principal. "The discourse between students from the two schools, and what they have in common, is proof that we have the power to hold a courageous and open dialogue, despite our differences."
